Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng had also called for the live telecast to continue.
"I want the people to see for themselves what is going in the Dewan Rakyat at every Parliament session.
"Let the people see what's happening and decide whether it is good or bad for the nation. Only then it's democracy," he was quoted as saying by Bernama .
Guan Eng was responding to remarks by Ahmad Shabery that there may be no more live telecast of Parliament proceedings as he would propose to the Cabinet to stop such broadcasts.
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had said he was ashamed at what had transpired in the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday and agreed that live telecast of the proceedings should be stopped.
He had said what happened at the Dewan Rakyat was just "too much".
During the session, MPs from both sides of the divide traded insults and engaged in shouting matches.
