Renowned blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin today said that he was ready to be investigated by the police over his recent claims on the Altantuya murder, but only if he was summoned to give his statement.

raja petra released from prison 090508 03 "No one has called yet. So I'm not sure what is going to happen," said the blogger, who also runs the web based news site Malaysia Today.

And his wife Marina Lee added that it was unlikely for the police to take any action immediately as the matter would require thorough investigations.

"At the moment there are only rumours about the arrest. But he will attend nonetheless if he is summoned. He has never evaded from any (investigations) so far," she said.

"It will look very funny to charge the whistleblower without a proper enquiry," she said.

Raja Petra dropped a bombshell last week by signing a statutory declaration implicating Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's wife in the murder of Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu.

According to a report in the Star today, the police are investigating Raja Petra's claims under Section 203 of the Penal Code which carried a two-year prison sentence or a fine or both, for spreading false information.

In his declaration which was filed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court, Raja Petra claimed that deputy premier's wife Rosmah Mansor and two others were present when Altantuya was murdered on Oct 19, 2006.

However, Najib and Rosmah have repudiated all claims describing it to be nothing more than ‘concocted stories'.
