Selangor executive councillor Elizabeth Wong, whose nude photographs are being circulated in public, has made a report urging the police to investigate the matter.

elizabeth wong 220507 According to the Bukit Lanjan assemblyperson, she lodged the report at the Damansara police station in Petaling Jaya at about 11pm yesterday.

It is believed that the photographs were taken - most likely by a former boyfriend - while she was sleeping and without her consent. It appears that a camera phone was used.

Apart for the photos, it is learnt that a video clip is also in circulation.

Malaysiakini was shown a couple of the photos said to be among those in circulation. One shows Wong asleep naked in bed.

The 37-year-old Pakatan Rakyat politician - also the tourism, consumer affairs and environment exco in Selangor - has been severely traumatised by the release of the photos.

'Malicious attack'

She told Malaysiakini that it was a gross invasion of her privacy.

The photos have been made available to a number of newspapers, including The Sun and Malay Mail , which today ran reports.

According to one of Wong's supporters, the release of the photos is aimed at casting aspersions on her and Pakatan ahead of two crucial by-elections in April, in Kedah and Perak.

In a statement released this afternoon, Wong said she was informed that some people are trying to distribute photos/videos showing her asleep in partial nudity and also in intimate positions.

"The distribution and publication of these photos/video is a malicious attack on my personality.

"This constitutes a gross outrage on my modesty, a gross invasion of my privacy, and in particular the sanctity of my personal life. It is being done by unscrupulous persons to embarrass and discredit me.

"I am a victim in this incident," she added.

Contacted this morning, Petaling Jaya police district chief ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed confirmed that a police report had been lodged last night.
