Selangor Mentri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim has today vowed to stand by one of his cabinet members who is rocked by the distribution of her nude photographs.

Executive councillor Elizabeth Wong, whose naked photographs are being circulated in public, had made a police report late last night over the matter.

“My other exco colleagues and I will give her support during the trying times.”

Wong, in an earlier statement today, has indicated that she would ride out the political storm over the nude photographs controversy and will “continue ... to serve the people of Selangor”.

According to the mentri besar, Wong has carried out her duties over the past 11 months “diligently” as exco in charge of tourism, consumer affairs and environment.

It is learned that the photographs were taken - most likely by a former boyfriend - while she was sleeping and without her consent.

Khalid slammed the “unscrupulous people” for circulating the photographs.

“I believed some irresponsible parties will use this issue to gain political mileage and I appeal to the public not to make hasty judgements prior to full police investigations.”
