Anti-Corruption Agency director-general Ahmad Said Hamdan has been reappointed to the post on a one-year contract following his mandatory retirement on May 26 next year.
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan said Ahmad Said would serve in the graft-busting agency's top post until May 25, 2009.
He was reappointed as his services were still needed, Mohd Sidek said in a statement, released by Bernama.
He said the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin has consented to the reappointment under Section 3(3) of the Anti-Corruption Act 1997.
Penang-born Ahmad Said was appointed ACA director-general on May 14 this year.
