Kudos to the new Perlis mufti Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin. At 35, he is the youngest person in the country to hold the post.

Like a cool wind blowing across a hot desert, he has boldly pointed out that the counsel and opinions of ulama (Islamic scholars) are not authoritative and definitive, but can be questioned.

Both are major accomplishments.
