KINILENS
Standing tall

A three storey-tall wooden cutout of jailed opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim overlooks Kampung Indian Settlement, Batu Caves ahead of polling day for the 14th general election on May 9, 2018.

The same 12-metre cutout of Anwar was erected after the 2008 election, but was later taken down due to fears that the plywood structure would not be able to withstand weather conditions.

The cutout had met with protests from Umno leaders, who accused supporters of then-opposition coalition Pakatan Rakyat of “worshipping” their leader.
