Does Jeffrey carry a club and inhabit a cave? His polemic concludes that some women could not be trusted with legally enshrined protection. That certainly suggests they should remain cowering in whatever domestic distress they might be unfortunate enough to find themselves in.

If Jeffrey were to revise his misogynistic drivel, he would notice that any potential abuse of the law would, by his own suggestion, arise from the husband's behaviour or the wife's suspicions about that.

For all that he drones on about the implied consent of women, perhaps he should also evaluate that there is also an implied consent from men who can and must control their carnal desires both outside and inside matrimony.

Women are our mothers, sisters and wives. Who would wish on those we love the heartless cruelty of rape, wherever perpetrated? Perhaps Jeffrey could apply his justifications to his own dysfunctional family, but true love for anyone would preclude tolerance of forced sex in any circumstance.

Moreover, whoever derives any satisfaction from non-consensual sex or who can see any justification for it is, like Jeffrey, unable to appreciate the beauty and harmony of an emotionally healthy union.

All who subscribe to Jeffrey's domineering attitude should have a sex change and live under the Taliban. Only there could they truly appreciate the impact of their views.
