Pakatan not tickled by 'degrading' cartoons
Barisan Nasional has been accused of resorting to underhand tactics to attack Pakatan Rakyat leaders in Perak using degrading cartoons.
Barisan Nasional has been accused of resorting to underhand tactics to attack Pakatan Rakyat leaders in Perak using degrading cartoons.
Apart from himself, Perak DAP secretary Nga Kor Ming said other leaders targeted are ousted menteri besar Mohamad Nizar Jamaluddin, DAP state chief Ngeh Koo Ham and Pakatan speaker V Sivakumar.
The cartoons, published in a six-page pamphlet, have been distributed in Malay-majority areas.
Among others, Nizar is portrayed as a 'puppet' of DAP and staunch supporter of the Chinese community.
Photograph of accident
There is also a photograph of the recent accident involving Nizar, where his Toyota Camry had overturned after hitting another car.
A vexed Nga said the caption read, 'This is what happens to politicians who do not use the official Proton car'.
"How can they (BN) politically capitalise on the suffering of Nizar? This shows that BN is ready to stoop low to get political mileage," he told a press conference in Ipoh yesterday.
In another development, Nga said Pakatan will be organising a mammoth gathering in Air Tawar tonight.
The 8pm gathering will see the presence of Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim and PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.
Nga said Pakatan will also organise a state level Chinese New Year open house function at the Kwang Tong Association hall in Taiping on Feb 16 at 11am.
