The death of veteran singer and actor, Abdul Latif Ibrahim, 61, has been described by his family, friends and fans as a huge loss for the local entertainment industry.

More than 200 people, including veteran artistes, Aziz Sattar and Malek Noor attended the burial at the AU4 Muslim cemetery, Taman Keramat in Kuala Lumpur at 10.10am today.

Abdul Latif died at the National Heart Institute (IJN) yesterday due to a heart ailment.

His daughter, Haznally Latif, 34, said her father was caring and always took care of the family.    

Abdul Latif leaves behind a wife Masriah Mahdan, 58, and two children, Haznally and Hazriq, 35.

Abdul Latif, who was also the brother of evergreen singer, Datuk Khadijah Ibrahim, was famous for his songs such as ‘ Nora ’, ‘ Mengharap Kasihmu ’ and ‘ Mengenang Dikau Kembali ’.

He had also starred in several films like ‘ Hapuslah Air Mata Mu ’ in 1976, ‘ Dendang Perantau ’ (1979), ‘ Sumber Ilhamku ’ (1979), ‘ Bintang Pujaan ’ (1981) and ‘ Senja Merah ’ (1982).
