At a press conference today, PKR vice-president Tian Chua said Umno had made money through “taxi companies” such as Perimekar Sdn Bhd and Terasasi Ltd.
He said that the companies had “moved money around”, circumventing French anti-graft laws and purportedly funnelled money into the hands of Umno and political figures.

) made the allegation based on a document marked 37, which is part of documents seized by French police from arms maker Thales Group and submitted to the court for its investigation.
It is believed that these are part of 153 original court documents that were leaked online by Asia Sentinel editor John Berthelsen.
The document, translated copies of which were furnished by Chua, mentioned Umno by name as well as a group of Malaysian firms allegedly used to launder money to influential Malaysian personalities.
The Scorpene saga came to a head after the French courts accepted a petition from Malaysian human rights NGO Suaram to investigate alleged graft in the sale of the naval vessels.
A probe is now ongoing by the French judiciary.
