MCA Youth’s annual general meeting (AGM) kicked off this morning reeking of a strong anti-Pakatan Rakyat atmosphere in Wisma MCA where the halls were pasted with posters slamming the opposition’s policies.

Pakatan Rakyat’s plan to abolish tolls, the National Higher Education Fund (PTPTN), and to provide free education, was the target of yet another poster, saying that it would bankrupt the nation within two years.

 

Summing it up were a pair  plastered at one of the entrances to the hall where the AGM  is being  held: ‘MCA promotes peace’ and ‘DAP incites hatred’.

Others pledged support for Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

The tone of the messages reflect all four political agendas slated for debate during the AGM that kicked off at 9am today.

mca youth agm 201012 10 These include the agenda to defend Malaysia’s secular system, to punish those who cause chaos and disrupt the economy through street demonstrations, and to urge the rakyat to support  theBN and Najib.

There are 16 resolutions to be debated today. The AGM will also see the launch of a RM1 million donation drive for the Chong Hwa secondary school in Kuantan, a resolution to support Tunku Abdul Rahman College’s upgrade to university-college, and a resolution to criticise ministries that were not prudent in spending the people’s money as highlighted in the 2011 Auditor-General’s Report.

MCA Youth Chief Wee Ka Siong’s speech set the anti-Pakatan agenda, rebutting the coalition’s statement that Malaysia’s national debt is excessive, and harping on the DAP's abandoned “principles” in keeping quiet as PAS advocates for an Islamic state.

MCA Youth’s AGM is being conducted in parallel with the Women’s wing AGM, while the main body's meeting will take place tomorrow.
