The Selangor government will set up a RM10 million special fund in recognition of the eight policemen killed while fighting armed intruders in Lahad Datu and Semporna, Sabah.

NONE Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said the matter would be deliberated at the state executive council meeting tomorrow before details of the fund are announced.

He said via the fund, the state government would also look at how to assist their immediate family members in terms of financial and other needs.

"We (Selangor government) strongly feel that their family members' welfare should be look into since they died defending the sovereignty of our country," said Khalid.
