Although the dust seemed to have settled with PSM chairperson Nasir Hashim ( right ) to defend his Kota Damansara state seat under the PKR ticket , word is now out that PAS is targeting the seat.

psm dr nasir hashim uncensored 010808 03 Sinar Harian today quotes PAS Subang division deputy chief Roslan Abu Bakar as saying that it intends to contest the seat since PSM is not a Pakatan Rakyat member.

"Furthermore, PAS had contested the seat in the 2004 general election and we are not confident PSM will attract the voters of Kota Damansara," Roslan is quoted as saying.

With PAS stepping in, Kota Damansara may see a three-cornered fight.

PSM wants its secretary-general S Arutchelvan to vie for the Semenyih state seat, where there could also be a three-cornered fight there.

PKR has already named its Serdang division chief Hamidi Hassan as the candidate for that Semenyih.

NONE BN will be represented by Umno Semenyih division chief Johan Abdul Aziz.

PSM also intends to go for the Jelapang state seat in Perak.

However, Perak state DAP secretary Nga Kor Ming said the party will not allow PSM to contest under the party's banner.

"Pakatan Rakyat has decided that DAP will contest Jelapang, and that PSM will only contest one Parliament seat. We ask PSM to cooperate and make way for DAP.

"If PSM intends to contest, we are still confident of winning in a three-way fight," Nga said.

In the last polls, DAP's Hee Yit Foong won in Jelapang , but she later jumped ship to become an independent BN-friendly representative.

Trouble brewing in Malacca DAP

In Malacca, The Star reported a possible fractious GE13, with trouble brewing in the Malacca DAP.

It reported Alor Gajah parliamentary candidate Damien Yeo threatening to pull out from the contest if party secretary-general Lim Guan Eng does not stop meddling in the state party's affairs.         

Yeo, who is supposed to contest against BN-MCA candidate Koh Nai Kwong, blasted Lim in his Facebook posting for not giving respect to Malacca DAP chairperson Goh Leong San.

NONE The dispute stems over who is to contest in the Kota Laksamana seat vacated by Lim's wife Betty Chew ( right ).

Goh suggested three names, including Teoh Lee Lan, sister of Teoh Beng Hock, the political aide found dead in the custody of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

However, the daily reported, Lim wanted his own choice, who was not named.

          

In Seremban, incumbent MP John Fernandez of the DAP said he is likely to defend his seat as an independent. Fernandez, a lawyer, had declared before this that he would not be defending his seat in GE13.

In Terengganu, Sinar Harian reported that three PAS division leaders had informed the party's central leadership of their opposition to PKR contesting in the Bandar , Seberang Takir and Bukit Besi state seats.

The Malay daily said the divison leaders had rejected the PKR candidates, saying that they were parachuted to the three seats and did not have any grassroots support.

“We, the representatives of the three divisions, have asked the central leadership to allow PAS candidates to contest in the three seats,” the paper reported.
