The Shah Alam High Court today dismissed Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad's defamation against Umno Wanita information chief Hamidah Osman over an alleged superimposed photograph of the PAS lawmaker in a priest's robe.

NONE Khalid had alleged Hamidah ( right ) featured the picture in her blog posting, however, judicial commissioner Hashim Hamzah threw out the suit as the plaintiff had failed to show the original blog posting.

In dismissing the suit, Hashim also ordered Khalid to pay RM20,000 in costs.

When contacted by Malaysiakini , lawyer Nor Emelia Iszeham, who appeared for Hamidah, confirmed the dismissal of Khalid's suit.

However, she said the judge did not provide  the full grounds for his decision and would do so if there is an appeal.

Appearing for Khalid was lawyer Azhana Mohd Khairudin.

Khalid, who is also Selangor PAS commissioner III, filed the suit against Hamidah on Jan, 2010 claiming that the superimposed photograph on her blog portrayed him as a Christian priest and an apostate.

He  was claiming an unspecified amount of damages, relief and other costs deemed fit by the court.

Hamidah had last year applied to strike out Khalid's suit but this was dismissed by the High Court.

She failed again in her appeal at the Court of Appeal, which ordered the case be transferred to the High Court for hearing.
