KINIBIZ Malaysia Airlines (MAS) kicked of its month-long celebrations on Oct 1 in conjunction with its 41st anniversary with a special screening of ‘Tanda Putera’ for its staff and by awarding a team of MAS staff with the iCAN award for their recent success in scaling the Himalayas last month.

Speaking at the event, MAS CEO Ahmad Jauhari said, “We have achieved so much in the past one year since we celebrated 40 years of being Malaysia Airlines and delivering ‘Malaysian Hospitality’ across our network.”

He added that MAS is now known globally for its exclusivity, and that the success of the airlines is due to the thousands of employees who have worked together to demonstrate Malaysian Hospitality.

In explaining the choice of movie, Jauhari also said, “We wanted to screen ‘Tanda Putera’ to our staff because it contains a lot of historical content with relation to Malaysia Airlines. It will bring fond memories to our senior staff and act as a motivational boost for the junior ones.”

All through October, MAS will organise a series of events for its staff, which will include an opportunity to participate in a Hazard Hunt which allows staff to volunteer to audit and report on potentially harmful areas in the work environment.

The carrier will also promote its iCAN campaign, which encourages staff to share their achievement stories and host dinner sessions with them.

The MH Rocks programme has also been introduced to strengthen customer orientation among front-line staff.

The programme name is an acronym for ‘Reaching Out to Customers and Kakitangan Sentiasa’ and will also involve management and the heads of various departments joining front-line staff during their workdays to get a better idea of the challenges faced by the staff in dealing with customer related issues.
