Residents from a number of neighbourhoods in Balakong, Selangor staged a protest yesterday after facing dry taps for 10 days, which is affecting about 20,000 people.
They vowed to protest every evening until running water is restored to the area.
The demonstration yesterday involved 40 residents from Taman Impian Ehsan, Taman Impian Indah and Kampung Kenangan Indah.
Protesters shouted "Syabas, when will there be water" and held various placards and banners highlighting their plight.
Streams of motorists honked in support of their protest.
The group's spokesperson Paul Wong said that they want Syabas to explain the cause of the water disruption and why there was no notification.
"We are only asking for water. This must not happen again... It is dangerous for some of us who have to use motorcycles to fetch water in containers.
"There are also people who stay in flats. They have to carry water up several flight of stairs," he said.
The protest lasted for about an hour.
