TELUK INTAN While stopping short of a vow, Gerakan has urged Teluk Intan voters to imagine its by-election candidate Mah Siew Keong as a potential cabinet minister if voted in as their MP.
Sinar Harian today reported Gerakan adviser Chang Ko Youn ( right ) saying that this was a “golden opportunity” for Teluk Intan to see economic development.
“I am confident that he will be appointed a minister... unlike the rival candidate who can only sow promises while campaigning but is actually insincere,” Chang said.
Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia also carried a similar report with the headline ‘Siew Keong might be elected minister if he wins’.
Mah was a two-term MP for Teluk Intan before being defeated in the last two general elections. He was also a deputy minister.
Mah became Gerakan’s president last year in a party election, after acting president Chang declined to defend the post.
