According MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon, DAP must do so as its own Teluk Intan candidate Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud is an acquaintance of Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali.
MCA has urged the DAP to apologise to its vice-president Chew Mei Fun after scathingly attacking her, when she was Kajang state by-election candidate, for sharing a stage with a Malay rights NGO Perkasa leader.
According MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon, DAP must do so as its own Teluk Intan candidate Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud is an acquaintance of Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali.
Chong (left) said that Chew was put through the grinder because she was photographed on the same stage with a BN leader, even though she did not know that the BN man is a also the Negri Sembilan Perkasa leader.
Yet, he said, DAP and its allies have been silent over a photograph of Dyana with the Perkasa president, which shows that they have ties.
"DAP should stop practising double standards... If (DAP leaders) hold to any principle of fairness and justice, they should apologise to Chew and the voters for their action.
"Otherwise, Dyana should face the same treatment from them for "being in cahoots with Perkasa"," he said.
Chong also urged Dyana to make clear her ties with Perkasa, either by "making a clean break" from the right-wing pressure group, or "being honest" about her affliations.
Semangat 46 connection
Claims of Dyana's ties with Perkasa followed the circulation of a picture of her and her mother Yammy Samat with Ibrahim at a Kuala Lumpur restaurant earlier this month.
The event was hosted by Ibrahim in honour of Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, who was awarded an honorary doctorate by Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).
The event was also attended by Razaleigh's allies in Semangat 46, the splinter party he headed after the Umno split in 1987.
Ibrahim was a senior Semangat 46 leader who held a parliamentary seat for the party, while Dyana's mother, a longtime Umno member had backed Razaleigh in the split.
Dyana has denied that she shares Perkasa's stance or that her mother was once Perkasa Wanita chief.
