A police report has been lodged by the PKR Bayan Baru Youth wing against Perkasa information chief Ruslan Kassim for threatening to chop off the heads of “parasites” who ridicule Islam and the Selangor ruler.

PKR Bayan Baru information chief Mohd Aidil Fitri Ibrahim, who lodged the report, urged the police to probe Ruslan ( right ) under Section 506 of the Penal Code for issuing criminal threats.

“Please act appropriately against Ruslan to guarantee the harmony of all races in the country,” Mohd Aidil said after lodging the report at the Bayan Baru police station at 4pm today.

“This is to ensure that rule of law is guaranteed and that no individual or organisation is immune to the laws of this country,” Mohd Aidil, who is also Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia Penang spokesperson, added.

“This is a country with rules of law. If anyone has committed a crime, he or she should be punished according to the law and not be punished by Perkasa or any other individual,” he said, quoting from a statement made by Bayan Baru MP Sim Tze Tzin.

 Ruslan, in a fiery speech to a rally in front of the Selangor palace in Shah Alam yesterday, said if these “parasites” continued to ridicule Islam and the sultan, “we will chop off their heads”.

He added: "It is better they get lost, better they die, better they don't live in this country than be a disease, a virus and a parasite on our religion, race and country."

Rally to defend sanctity of Islam

The rally, attended by about 200 people, was held to show thanks to Sultan Sharafudin Idris Shah for "defending the sanctity of Islam" and the actions of the Selangor Islamic authorities.

Ruslan also defended the Selangor Islamic Affairs Council's refusal to return the 321 copies of the Bible seized by the Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (Jais) from Bible Society of Malaysia (BSM) in January this year.

Mohd Adil also urged Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali to apologise to the Selangor sultan for Ruslan’s threatening words, which he uttered outside the Shah Alam palace, as it tarnished the position of the monarchy and the ruler of the state.

“The words uttered are unethical and damaging to the reputation of the ruler as it was said in front of the public,” Mohd Aidil added.
