And perhaps Ibrahim Ali should lead Umno

YOURSAY ‘Why should people support Pakatan if it’s no different from BN?’

'PAS should lead Pakatan, just like Umno leads BN'

Pemerhati: It is interesting and not in the least surprising that Ibrahim Ali, the leader of the organisation which is the Malaysian version of the Ku Klux Klan and whose patron is Umno’s Dr Mahathir Mohamad who started the ethnic cleansing of the public service in a big way and whose Umno espouses Nazi and apartheid like racial superiority and discrimination, now proposes that a party that believes in religious superiority should head the opposition.

Malaysia is now governed by people who implement policies that were implemented by the evil regime of Nazi Germany and the despicable South African apartheid regime.

Ibrahim Ali’s proposal means that the alternative to the present vile Umno should be an Ayatollah/Saudi-style religious dictatorship.

Ipohcrite: If Ibrahim Ali feels that PAS should lead Pakatan Rakyat, I must say that, given his clear and present wisdom, Ibrahim Ali should be the prime minister of Malaysia. The only snag is that convincing the rakyat to take him seriously on this may take doing.

Asitis: PAS cannot even lead itself, what more, Pakatan. Also, do Pakatan really want to follow the template of BN. Then what is the difference between BN and Pakatan?

If Pakatan cannot offer anything different from BN, then there is no justification for Pakatan to exists. And this is what many people are questioning concerning Pakatan in the light of the recently ended Selangor MB crisis.

Why should people support Pakatan if it is no different from BN?

Quigonbond: Indeed, why would we want to replicate the BN model that clearly results in gross abuse of power and dearth of intelligence and wisdom?

But of course, Ibrahim Ali would like PAS to lead. It's driving a wedge between PAS and other partners in Pakatan.

The fact of the matter is until and unless PAS moves to the centre and proves that it can stay there - and to demonstrate so within the next three years unequivocally - moderate Malaysians are not going to let it remain in Pakatan, much less be the first amongst equals within Pakatan.

Anyway, I laugh at Ibrahim Ali’s suggestion that only when PAS becomes leader of Pakatan, can they compete on good governance. That's utter malarkey and I suspect Ibrahim Ali knows that too.

Good governance is colour blind. PKR, DAP and progressive in PAS have enough leaders to lead the drive for good governance as compared with BN.

DontPlayGod: Pakatan is a coalition of three equal partners, unlike BN where Umno leads all the other mosquito parties by their noses, and just tell them to "duduk diam diam" and "do what I tell you to do but don't do what I do."

Abasir: Ibrahim Ali has just confirmed that MCA, like Gerakan and MIC are Umno's pet poodles - trained to bark on command.

Mushiro: Ibrahim Ali with his 'under the coconut shell' mentality cannot think beyond equal partnership or the best leader leads. This is an inherent defect in him and the Umno types who are scared of meritocracy.

Their expectations of a free ride, free contracts, easy money through corruption or government grants and permanent government assistance cannot be erased. This is their concept of success.

They have this fear that meritocracy means that the Chinese or Indians will take over. They do not understand that no meritocracy means everyone will suffer when the country's resources gets depleted.

Anonymous#007: PAS should lead Umno and take over responsibilities from Jakim, Jais, Perkasa, and other defenders of Islam/Muslim Malays, so that there is no dispute over Islamic matters.

PAS can then retire from politics (because Islam is their priority, not political power/wealth) to concentrate on teaching the true virtues of Islam to the Muslim Malays.

Then the two-party system will be effective because the legally elected representatives of the rakyat would be able to fulfill their tasks properly and fairly without fear of retaliation from religious leaders.

Old Timer: This insistence on race is why we are bogged down by civil servants/politicians, paid for by taxpayers who are not qualified and equipped to do the job.

Just look at the drop in standard of education with graduates who cannot read research material or not suitable for the job market, and poorly qualified doctors from Russian or Indonesian universities.

We really don't care if the leaders are Malay, Chinese or Indian or 'others'. We want good leaders who are able to fix things when the auditor-general reports corruption, when the illegals flood Sabah, when forests disappear, and when stupid politicians say things that fragment the country.

It's because of people like Ibrahim that we will never have unity. We will never be 'Malaysian'. By the way, we don't think MCA has 'mellowed'. They are simply redundant and irrelevant.

Anonymous #07451242: It's been a long time that I had a good laugh. PAS, please do not heed to this article. If so, it will be PAS' downfall.
