DAP members Zairil Khir Johari and Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud have decried alleged photographs of them posing together spread by pro-Umno bloggers as “gutter politics at its lowest”.
 
Dyana, who rose to prominence when she stood for the Teluk Intan by election constituency, said she was disgusted at the attempt to tarnish her.
 
“Being a woman, I’m an easy target. I’m angry.
 
“But I don’t want to stoop to their level and indulge them with further comments,” said Dyana, who is also the political secretary to DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang. 
 
She added it was not the first time that doctored photographs of her have been used to tarnish her image. 
 
“This is gutter politics and I am sure it won’t be the last time,” said Dyana, who was DAP’s Teluk Intan by-election candidate.

Zairil, when contacted, also condemned the photographs circulating on pro-Umno blogs.
 
He described it as "gutter politics at its lowest".
 
“I really would not like to comment on such lowly attacks,” said the Bukit Bendera MP.
 
The series of photographs began circulating on social media this morning, supposedly showing the duo taking selfies in close embrace in various locations.
 
The photographs were purportedly uploaded onto Zairil’s Facebook account by an unknown person, but later deleted. 
 
Screenshots of the posting however is now making its rounds on the social media.
