Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar has reaffirmed that the hunt is on for provocateurs in relation to the brawls that occurred at Low Yat Plaza.

"We will arrest those who had been so enthusiastic in inciting others to create riots.

"These people, they better be ready," he told a press conference in Bukit Aman today.

As for blogger Papa Gomo, who he said yesterday topped the list of those the police would arrest for spreading false news, Khalid said the blogger has yet to surrender himself.

"Those people whom I have asked to surrender have yet to do so, so today we will find them and arrest them," he said.

The police chief added there were still quarters misusing social media: confusing the public by posting pictures from other incidents and claiming that they were taken during the Low Yat incident.

"Don't do this, don't heat up the situation further.

"We will track these people down and we will take action. Although it will take time to detect who the owners of the Facebook accounts are, we will detect them," he said.

Meanwhile, Khalid requested the media not to highlight comments posted by infamous sex blogger Alvin Tan, when asked on the latter’s Facebook post regarding the Low Yat incident.

"Don't take notice of him. We should not take notice of that monkey (budak beruk).

"If we report whatever that he says, that means we are giving him recognition. If we don't take notice of him, he will keep quiet," he said.
