Cops quiz MACC director on draft charge sheet

The police quizzed Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) director of special operations director Bahri Mohamad Zin on the draft charge sheet purportedly for Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
This followed earlier claims that the draft charge sheet in relation to the probe on SRC International , produced on Sarawak Report, was fake.
"They (the police) discussed their investigation to find and detect which party was responsible to leak the information regarding the draft charge sheet.
"I am fully convinced (the leak was) not from us (MACC).
"Maybe it (the draft charge sheet) was reproduced and I am sad this thing happened," Bahri ( photo ) told reporters at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya.
He was earlier quizzed by a police team from Bukit Aman for three hours at his office today.
Last week, the draft charge sheet was widely circulated on social media alleging that it was the reason behind the sudden removal of Abdul Gani Patail as attorney-general.
This prompted Attorney-General's Chambers head of prosecution division Tun Abdul Majid Tun Hamzah to issue a denial via Twitter around midnight.
Hours later, newly-appointed attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali dismissed the document as false.
He also said the charge papers pointed in the direction of a plot to topple the prime minister and warned of stern action against the perpetrators.
"These alleged charge papers therefore indicate there is a conspiracy to topple a serving prime minister by criminalising him, and that the methods include doctoring (documents) and criminal leakage," he said.
Apandi's response led DAP lawmaker Tony Pua to urge the AG to explain his statement regarding a 'criminal leak' despite dismissing the document as false.
MACC too dismissed the charge sheet, saying its probe was still ongoing and investigation papers have not been submitted to the Attorney-General's Chambers.
