This follows a meeting they had with Public Services Department director-general Mohamad Zabidi Zainal, said sources.
The two MACC officers, special operations division director Bahri Mohamad Zin and strategic communications director Rohaizad Yaakob, were to begin working at the JPM today.
Bahri and his division was investigating SRC International Sdn Bhd over the 1MDB issue, while Rohaizad received a visit from a group of opposition leaders at the Putrajaya MACC headquarters and had a dialogue session with them.
In a statement, Chief Secretary to the Government Ali Hamsa said he and Mohamad Zabidi had met Bahri and Rohaizad who were transferred from the MACC to the PMO.
"Both of them have explained their actions in issuing media statements. Following their explanations, I have made the decision to cancel their transfer to the PMO and they will return to their original posts effective today," said Ali in a brief statement.
MACC welcomes move
Bahri had been vocal against the arrest of his men and the police raid of their offices and homes, under Section 124B of the Penal Code, which criminalises activities detrimental to parliamentary democracy.
He had claimed that he would stop at nothing to find out who was the mastermind behind the arrests.
Rohaizad was believed to have irked Putrajaya by accepting a delegation of opposition leaders and activists who paid the MACC headquarters a visit to show support.
In an immediate reaction, MACC's number three, deputy chief commissioner (prevention) Mustafar Ali welcomed the reinstatement of the two officers.
"It is a wise and good move. MACC would like to thank Ali, and Zabidi for the decision.
"MACC will continue to do its job with responsibly, independently, transparently and in a professional manner as stipulated under the MACC Act 2009," said Mustafar in a press release.
