Top opposition leaders today visited the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya to show solidarity as the graftbuster comes under pressure for probing SRC International Sdn Bhd.

RM42 million out of RM2.6 billion deposited into Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's private bank accounts originated from SRC International.

MACC investigators have in recent days faced arrests while their homes and offices raided by police.

The opposition figures, led by its leader Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, were there to tell the graftbuster that they were not alone.

Other leaders present were DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang, PKR vice presidents Rafizi Ramli and Shamsul Iskandar, Gerakan Harapan Baru chairperson Mohamad Sabu and former minister Zaid Ibrahim.

MACC strategic communications director Rohaizad Yaakob thanked the leaders for their show of support.

"Thank you very much for showing support to MACC.

"We will do our best to carry out our duties in an honest and transparent manner at all times," she told journalists after receiving the leaders.

When met by journalists, Wan Azizah ( photo ) urged Malaysians to also throw their support behind the MACC.

"We have laws that protect the MACC and as Malaysians we should preserve and strengthen these laws," she said.

Meanwhile, DAP's Lim said support for MACC is needed to ensure that it can complete its investigation into the financial scandal amid pressure.

Lim added he hoped the outcome of the investigation can help restore confidence in MACC's seriousness in tackling corruption.
