PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has issued conflicting statements about seeking a clarification from Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali who has allegedly been acting unilaterally on important state matters.

This is with regard to accusations that Azmin approved three highways in Selangor without discussing it with the party.

When met by reporters this afternoon, Wan Azizah said she would ask Azmin to explain the matter to the party this Friday.

"This Friday we have something on the Selangor budget, I will ask for an explanation then," she was quoted as saying by Malaysiakini .

However, she has since posted a Facebook message, claiming the article is not true.

"I have discussed with Azmin on the toll issue and accepted his explanation; there is no issue of summoning him.

"Kak Wan (Wan Azizah) did not demand, so this news is not true," she said in reference to the Malaysiakini article.

Malaysiakini has earlier reported that Wan Azizah asked for an explanation from Azmin. It did not use the word 'summon'.

In the article, Wan Azizah was asked about Azmin acting unilaterally, the same reason that got former Selangor menteri besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim sacked from PKR.

PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli on Monday said Azmin would be called in over rumours that he approved the Sungai Besi-Ulu Klang Expressway (SUKE), Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Highway (Dash) and the East Klang Valley Expressway (EKVE).

"I don't know and I don't have any information, but I will raise the matter in our internal meetings to get confirmation from the menteri besar on whether there was approval," he was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian .

Previously, Azmin's predecessor was sacked from PKR on grounds that he did not refer to the party on important state matters.
