Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman has vowed to fight off his opponents after his predecessor Ahmad Said attempted to move a no-confidence motion against him.

"To those who wish to topple me, listen carefully. I am not afraid and I will not bow down.

"Come whatever great challenges, I will not surrender. Even if I die, even if I am betrayed, I will never surrender," he told the state assembly today.

He added that between the plans of his opponents and that of God, the Almighty's will reigns supreme, and he would only submit to God.

Yesterday, Ahmad had submitted a surprise motion of no-confidence against Razif.

However, state assembly speaker Mohd Zubir Embong rejected the motion, saying there was no 14-day notice.

Ahmad said the motion, which was under Article 14(6) of the Terengganu constitution, required no notice, and accused the speaker of abusing his power.

Ahmad ( photo ) was removed as Terengganu menteri besar and replaced with Razif in 2014.

This prompted him and two other Umno representatives to leave the party sparking off a crisis in the state.

The crisis ended two days later when Ahmad rejoined Umno after Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak apologised for removing him so close to his daughter's wedding.

Ahmad still sore over the episode

The Kijal assemblyperson however is still sore over the episode, saying it had humiliated him.

Razif however said he had done nothing but show respect to Ahmad and the state's former BN menteris besar.

He said he had even held a ceremony to honour them, which he claimed Ahmad had snubbed.

"Which is why I'm confused that apparently there's a conspiracy that I want to deny Kijal's contributions to the state. That's not true," Razif said.

The menteri besar added that while he is a teacher who does not like to fight, he will do so if continuously challenged.

"I will fight with gusto so we can create more success, and achieve more for the people's good," he said.
