PKR deputy president Azmin Ali is not aware of an alleged second letter from jailed party de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, again warning PKR against being too close to former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

"I'm not sure because I haven't seen it," Azmin told reporters when met in Sungai Besar today.

The Star today cited a source as saying Anwar had issued a second letter from behind bars.

This time the letter was reportedly addressed directly to PKR vice president Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin, advising him to exercise wisdom and restraint when dealing with Mahathir.

This according to the English daily's report, may be because Shamsul has been seen attending various meetings and events organised by the ex-PM.

Previously Anwar in his first letter had warned all PKR members to be wary of working with Mahathir.

The PKR de facto leader had lamented that some party leaders were in cahoots with Mahathir and former finance minister Daim Zainuddin who were elitist and staunch defenders of cronyism.

He warned that working with them could derail PKR's struggle for reform.

Anwar also lamented that while Azmin, PKR vice president Tian Chua, and PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli, were entrusted to negotiate on the Citizen's Declaration, it had turned out to be a flawed Mahathir document.
