A man who allegedly assaulted a security guard with a bolt cutter in Penang last Saturday surrendered to police today.

According to NST Online, the suspect, a businessman with the 'Datuk Seri' title, came to the Northeast District police headquarters this morning.

District police chief Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said investigations were ongoing.

The incident reportedly took place at the Delima Palace Condominium in Greenlane.

Eye-witnesses said the assailant's vehicle was clamped the day before the incident because it was not parked in the proper place.

After refusing to pay the RM100 fee to remove the clamp, the assailant came back the next day with the bolt cutter.

While attempting to remove the clamp, the victim T Ramaraj made a video recording of the assailant's antics.

Upon realising this, the assailant allegedly struck Ramaraj with the bolt cutter.

Police are investigating the incident under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing hurt.
