Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Mansor’s proposal to ban lower-powered motorcycles from entering the Kuala Lumpur city centre proves that the BN government’s policies burden the people, said PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil.
“This proposal at a time of dampened economy, rising price of petrol and the goods and services tax, and an incomplete door-to-door public transport network, is irrational, irresponsible and uncoordinated,” Fahmi said in a statement.
He was responding to Tengku Adnan, who was reported to have said that the government might ban ‘kapcai’ motorcycles (50 to 150cc) from downtown Kuala Lumpur to reduce carbon emissions.
