Tanjong Datu contest commences

The Tanjong Datu by-election campaign kicked off with three candidates, namely the late Sarawak chief minister’s wife Jamliah Anu representing BN, State Reform Party of Sarawak chairperson Johnny Bob Aput and Rapelson Richard Hamit of Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru.

Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein said the fielding of Adenan Satem’s widow was not to court sympathy but was based on her qualification.

Mega project threatens Carey Island natives

Carey Island, the home of the Mah Meri tribe, is being threatened by a RM200 billion port city on their ancestral land.

The International Court of Justice said Malaysia sought a review of the Pulau Batu Puteh case following the discovery of three declassified documents from UK’s national archives.

Johor Menteri Besar Khaled Nordin said he hoped the new discovery will help Malaysia reclaim the lost territory from Singapore.

Minister claim Penang FT to help Malays

Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor claimed his proposal to turn Penang into a Federal Territory was to help Malays who were allegedly neglected by the state government.
