The Federal Territories Islamic Department (Jawi) and the police are on the hunt for self-styled "Bomoh king" Ibrahim Mat Zin.

According to Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, Ibrahim was tarnishing the image of Islam.

"Jawi and the police have been tracking down Ibrahim since Monday. (They will) arrest and charge him for tarnishing the image of Islam," said Asyraf Wajdi on Twitter yesterday.

Previously, Asyraf Wajdi had accused Ibrahim of being an attention seeker and urged the public to not share video clips of the bomoh's rituals.

Ibrahim is best known for his rituals at Kuala Lumpur International Airport following the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.

Recently, video clips of his ritual meant to "protect" Malaysia from North Korea have been making rounds on the internet.

His repertoire includes looking through bamboo telescopes and waving two coconuts around while reciting incantations.
