The word ‘India’ is an anglicised term from the Greek word ‘ind’ which is taken from the word ‘Indus’ which is one of the longest rivers in the Indian subcontinent. The Indus originates in the Himalayas, flows through Kashmir in India and West Punjab and Sindh which are now in Pakistan.
