The word “innovation” is derived from the Latin verb innovare, which means to renew, to improve or to replace something.

Innovation has become a lifeline for many of us. We are witnessing how technology acceleration, especially through digital adoption, coupled with innovation has been a powerful mechanism in paving the way to uplift the economy out of a downturn since Covid began.

The strength, creativity and perseverance that we see, hear and read is remarkably vibrant! With so many great stories of how businesses have responded and reacted and even managed to accelerate growth, it is imperative that the inaugural Top In Tech Innovation Awards honours these innovators, businesses, and their massive efforts that reflect the best face of Malaysia Boleh.

The ceremony is set to take place in January 2022 at Technology Park Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. The winners will receive trophies and exciting opportunities to gain access to further accelerate their innovations including MDEC’s Mentor+ programme, complementary access to Equidam Valuation Report, access to selected funding programs such as MDEC Pitching Open Day and Founders Grindstone Pitching & Networking, and market access programmes such as the GAIN programme.

The Awards will recognise and celebrate innovators, corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, academicians and government agencies for their outstanding contributions to the community and economy through digital adoption and innovative thinking, in the midst of an unprecedented health and socioeconomic crisis.

The inaugural Top in Tech Innovation Award is brought to you by Malaysiakini and Digital News Asia, with the support from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI).
