KPJ Healthcare Berhad (“KPJ Healthcare” or “the Group”) has launched the operations of its Klinik Waqaf An-Nur (“KWAN”) Mobile Clinic at Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru (“HSAJB”) to improve access to affordable care and support emergency services for the public. The mobile clinic provides after-hours treatment for non-critical cases and is aimed at reducing congestion at the hospital’s Emergency and Trauma Department.

The launch was officiated by the Chief Minister of Johor, YAB Dato’ Onn Hafiz Ghazi. It forms part of a broader collaboration involving the Johor State Government, Johor State Health Department (“JKNJ”), Waqaf An-Nur Corporation Berhad and the Johor State Health EXCO Office.
Joining YAB Dato’ Onn Hafiz Ghazi at the launch were YB Ling Tian Soon, Johor State Executive Councillor for Health; Dr Haji Mohtar Bin Pungut @ Ahmad, Director of JKNJ; Dr Mohamad Nizam Bin Haji Subahir, Director of HSAJB; along with senior management representatives from KPJ Healthcare and Waqaf An-Nur Corporation Berhad.
The mobile clinic operates from 8.00 pm to 12.00 midnight, offering medical consultations, basic medications and medical certificates at subsidised rates equivalent to those at government hospitals. The clinic is also supported by KPJ’s digital Clinic Management System (“CMS”), which ensures safe, efficient and secure patient management.
Chin Keat Chyuan, President and Managing Director of KPJ Healthcare said, “By expanding access to care after hours, we are helping to ease congestion at HSAJB while serving the community more effectively. This is also the first time a KWAN mobile clinic is operating within a public hospital setting in Johor, which reflects the strength of our collaboration with government partners. It is part of our commitment under the KPJ Health System to deliver more connected, inclusive care.”
KWAN Mobile Clinic services in Johor, which began in 2017, are currently supported by two mobile units that continue to serve communities at their existing locations across the state. With the addition of HSAJB as a new service point, the mobile clinics are now reaching even more patients, including those seeking care at public hospitals.

To date, KWAN has served over 2.2 million patients across Malaysia through a network of eight static clinics, eight dialysis centres with 192 dialysis machines and nine mobile units.
Founded on the Islamic principle of waqaf, KWAN is a CSR initiative supported by zakat contributions and charitable endowments. It provides quality medical services to communities in need at minimal cost, regardless of background, race or religion.
KPJ Healthcare remains committed to expanding the KWAN model across the country as part of its broader mission to strengthen Malaysia’s healthcare system and ensure access for all.
