Penanti candidate Aminah, who claimed to receive inducements from two PKR officials, now says she was unaware this amounted to bribery.

There is a fear among Pakatan leaders that the absence of BN in the by-election would result in voters not coming out to vote.







He said the court decision did not surprise him because ‘Pakatan could sense it was coming based on series of judicial decisions over the years’.



Penang-based Citizens International said the former communist leader must be allowed to return home in view of his contributions to the nation and advanced age of 85.

Although BN has said that it will not contest in Penanti, the PKR candidate believed that Umno would support independents to make it tough for him.



Just hours after Barisan Nasional ruled out contesting in the Penanti by-election, a local businessman has put himself up for the running as an independent candidate.
