LETTER | We must aspire to look beyond race, religion, gender, status and creed to unite ourselves towards a truly 1Malaysia.

To see real change, we must start to think 'independent'.

The arrest begins after the authorities were unable to change the mindsets of Bersih leaders to call off the rally, and they seem to know the modus operandi of the organisers.

This too late self-admission by Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi of his sighting of the transfer documents and his meeting with the representative of PM Najib Abdul Razak’s ‘donor’, as his interpretation of solid evidences of Najib’s innocence, speaks volume of an allegedly untrustworthy and incapable Umno leader, wishing to dutifully show loyalty to Najib and good leadership to Malaysians.

I suppose the UK, being a founding member of the EU, should have seized the opportunity in the common interest of the European community to provide strong leadership most needed to foster unity to help bring about a lasting role model example of a prosperous EU, to then lend support to other regional groupings, to help bring about the futuristic eventuality of a new world order in the establishment of a One World One Dream community.

Both Singapore and our beloved country, Malaysia, graduated and inherited the same discipline from our colonial master, the British, pre- and post-Independence.
