I find Celcom Broadband’s and P1Wimax;s services unbearable, especially in these three locations: Jalan Wangsa 1/1 (my home and main location), Jalan Desa 2/1 (my office) and Jalan SA G14, Garden Avenue (in Seremban).

I first signed up with P1 Wimax when they promised that there would be a good service in my area. After one week, I found the service was very poor. Hence, I had no choice but to keep my Telekom Malaysia’s (TM) Streamyx services. Although P1 Wimax offered me a two month fee waiver while they upgraded their services in my area, I decided I could not wait.

I terminated P1WiMas package but until now, they have not returned RM100 owing to me. When I enquired about Celcom Broadband, the sales person said he was willing to come over to my house to show me that the connection speed was good in my area.

He did not have his own modem to demonstrate when he turned up at my home in Jalan Wangsa 1/1. I had no choice but to sign up for the service, trusting that it is the best broadband service to date.

But after using it for nearly two months now, I find it very frustrating as there is a heavy Internet traffic congestion in this area. I was told that this problem would be solved by the second quarter of this year. They initially allowed a waiver of 50% for two months but subsequently told me that they could only give me a maximum of one month.

Thereafter, I would have to call them again to ask for a waiver on a monthly basis. The latest is that I was told:

(a) The maximum waiver that they could now give me was a 50% waiver on a one-time basis once a year; and

(b) The upgrading service in my area has been pushed forward to the third and fourth quarters.

It is not my intention to terminate the service of the Celcom Broadband package and try out Digi’s or Maxis’s. I have a two-year contract to keep and I expect Celcom to do something to solve the problem.

In the meantime, they should consider the fact that I am still paying for my TM Streamyx services (max 1MBPS) at RM60. Although I am now on Celcom’s broadband, I find that I have to keep switching back to Streamyx because Celcom (up to 3.6MBPS as per their advertisement) is unable to deliver the speed that I have paid for.

Celcom should at least consider waiving at least 50% of their fee until the problem is solved so that I can terminate my TM Streamyx combo package.
