We have heard quite a number of things happening in Proton, the resignation of several directors and its chief executive officer Tengku Mahaleel Ariff and chairman Abdul Hassan Kendut being on different sides of a feud.
As a minority share holder, I am being kept in the dark as to what is happening to the company in which I invested in. It is a substantial amount of my hard earned money.
There is certainly more to the Proton story than meets the eyes and certainly I deserve to know more than what is being reported by the mainstream media.
I feel very much disadvantaged vis-a vis the majority shareholders who are represented on the board but have now had failed to manage this company properly.
The boardroom tussle happened amidst reports that Lotus continues to loose money and is still grabbling with credibility problems whilst Proton itself is in the process of completing its multi- billion ringgit facility, Proton City, at Tanjong Malim.
We minority shareholders, not being too knowledgeable in corporate matters, would like to ask just a couple of simple questions:
- Where is the government's principles of transparency and corporate governance in this case ? Why are we being placed in a position of disadvantage and not being sufficiently informed about the state of affairs in Proton?
