I am replying in response to the letter by Alfred Ho addressed to MCA president Ong Ka Ting whereby the writer had explicitly expressed his displeasure against certain cabinet ministers who are also MCA central committee members, their aides as well as myself. I am also responding to David Chew's letter .

First and foremost, I wish to mention that I have always been a fan of Ho since my younger days. Who can forget his soulful voice which is reminiscent of the real artistes? As with any other disabled person, Ho also has my sympathies over the difficulties he encounters as a sight-impaired person. However, I am saddened that he has chosen to attack me through his letter.

Herewith, I am writing to correct the inaccuracies which Ho had alleged against MCA and to inform all on the latest remedial action which MCA's Public Services and Complaints Department (PSCD) has undertaken despite the harsh accusations.

On allegations that the writer and his wife 'were made to wait for more than an hour', please be informed that the PSCD strictly practises a 'first-come-first serve' ruling. On that particular day, as is the same with any other typical day at the PSCD, our department was besieged with members of the public who had approached us for our services.

PSCD does not deliberately keep any visitor waiting. Similarly, we do not practice queue- jumping as it would give cause to further accusations.

On allegations that I 'came across as a very unfriendly, uncaring and insensitive person' and that I 'chose to ignore (Ho) altogether', please allow me to set the record straight.

On Aug 11, when Ho first saw me, he immediately started verbally attacking certain MCA leaders. His vitriol against MCA leaders was shocking and totally unacceptable.

Upon completion of discharging his anger at me, he proceeded to request for my assistance for him. Despite that, I still took the time to listen to him, noted his problems and contacted the respective authorities dealing with sight-impaired people for further action.

I checked with Soon Boon Teck, the principal private secretary of Donald Lim, deputy minister of information regarding Ho's status in RTM. Upon investigation, the feedback Soon received from Ho's former colleagues at the same RTM department was that apparently Ho could not get along with his colleagues.

Ho had also demanded that his employment with RTM which had been terminated be reinstated. However, this is beyond the purview of MCA. Ho also alleged that there were elements of racial discrimination targeted against him in RTM but this was not true.

When Ho was at our office, his attitude was very authoritative. He demanded that MCA get him a job, as if we were obliged to find him one.

In this regard, Ho in his letter gives a wrong impression of the actual events that took place that day. The accusations levelled by Ho and his behaviour on that particular day does not do justice to MCA leaders and staff of the PSCD who have tirelessly taken initiatives to address and alleviate the problems faced by members of the public without expectation of any reward in return.

The PSCD is deeply committed to seeking a solution to any issues raised by members of the public at our department and neither the MCA, myself nor my staff have wavered our standards in any of our endeavours for the public.

The writer is the head of MCA's Public Service and Complaints Department.
