The letter Minister should ban malaysiakini is referred.

In the letter, the writer, Z, wrote, 'And besides that, who are you to tell the leaders what to do and who is right and who is wrong?'. The writer also stated that he just came back from abroad.

The above statements show that his (or her) years spent overseas are wasted. If he had spent his years in countries like Great Britain, US or Australia, he would not have made such statements.

In those countries, every citizen has the right to question ministers for every action that is carried out. If Z is learned enough, the question of right or wrong does not arise. We also can question Z whether the leaders actions are right or wrong.

Coming to malaysiakini, I believe it is doing a very good job in expounding the truth and wrong doings of the authorities which otherwise would have gone unreported by our mainstream media.

An example is the Terence Gomez case. It is malaysiakini which reported on this case in detail. On top of that, it also published letters both for and against Gomez. Thus, it indirectly prevented the loss of one of our talents to another country.

With the rampant abuse of power by the authorities, the role played by malaysiakini is vital in checking it.
