The on-going saga of stinking piped water provided by Syabas truly stinks.
The answers and attempts by various authorities to explain the ammonia in the water stinks even more. How sad that recently declared city-status Selangor now pumps sewage water into homes. Worse, all this stink was just waiting to happen when Mother Nature gave a helping hand.
It is unbelievable that in today's age and time we have to live with piped water that contains excreta, discharges from pig farms and effluents from oxidation ponds and palm oil mills. And all the authorities can do is blame it on the floods?
What on earth is all this? Will someone up there with enough grey matter please take the bull by the horns? Can we not see the 'Shifting of Blame and Passing the Buck' game at play in wake of a crisis that brings shame to a nation priding itself of a first-world infrastructure?
Do we not see that the on-going stinking water problem speaks volumes of our authorities' mind set? We failed to act on all the dangerous and illegal acts of dumping. We continue to allow rivers as an outlet for discarding toxic waste. How long do we want to continue with such an irresponsible and 'tidak apa' attitude?
Do we not realise that leaders have a duty to protect fellow citizens and not preach to them that it is okay to consume stinking water?
It is time to haul up the heads of all those agencies and entities that have directly or indirectly contributed to this stinking saga. Otherwise, we might as well continue until another deluge of sewage comes smack into our homes again.
