In reference to Ken's Police 'tudung rule': Another perspective , there is no need to be sarcastic about this issue. This is only an issue of attire. The PM has also made it clear that the tudung is only ceremonial and only to be worn during an official ceremony. Can one imagine how a police parade would look like if everybody wore differently?

To those who chose to remain ignorant about this issue, I'd like to tell them the tudung is a requirement of the Islamic faith. All adult females whether they are police officers, teachers, clerks are required to wear it for it is compulsory in the Islam religion, they do not have a choice.

The IGP is imposing this rule because he has to look into the spiritual needs of policewomen of the Islamic faith and he believes that female policewomen of other races and religions have no qualms about wearing it.

Nobody is asking anybody to convert to Islam and the Chinese or Indian policewomen can still eat as much 'bah kut teh' as they want, who cares. What is the fuss all about?

Don't talk about principles for I know of some non-Muslim Malaysians who work as nurses in the Middle Eastern countries who don the full hijab every time they go out of their homes there without complaining. I guess nobody complains because the pay is very good over there.

Well, maybe if our police force pays as high as what is paid in the Middle East, then everyone will stop blowing up this issue. We all have the right to choose our professions and if anybody feels that he or she cannot work in one particular profession, he or she can always choose another.
