I was very amused when I read Khalid J's letter . He is a Pakistani yet he is commenting on Muslim Malaysians.

Does he think we do not know what atrocities the men in his country do to women, all in the name of Islam? Come on now, Khalid. The laws in your country are well-known all over the world. We, Malaysians are known to be extremely mild compared to your country.

I think Norlinda's letter is well-written. We should stop harping on Bangsa Malaysia and develop our respective races. Even America has their African Americans, Hispanic Americans and other countries all over the world have their ethnic identification. Why should you feel ashamed to be of a particular race?

It seems only Malaysians are not happy with their individual races. And as for following our father's race, Norlinda is right. It is practised everywhere. Otherwise why should the child carry the father's name/surname?

Are we trying to say that without a Bangsa Malaysia, we cannot progress? That is absolute nonsense. In the older days when nobody spoke of Bangsa Malaysia, we had more respect among races. Now it seems we are heading towards the opposite direction.
