Oh, to read some of the letters here is so exasperating! So many people have put in their two sen on the issue of the word 'Allah'. Let me tell you about someone who has worshiped Allah and Jesus Christ since she was born.

Growing up in the longhouses and towns of Borneo in the 1960s and 70s, I had no idea that the Muslim God was also called Allah. All I knew was that in my church, God the Father is also called 'Allah' in our Borneo-language church services as well as in the Malay language church services (okay, if some Malaysians object to Christians using Malay in our worship, then let's technically call the language we use Bahasa Indonesia).

I was taught that Yesus Kristus is the Son of God, and he is also called Allah Anak (God the Son) as well as other names, and he was sent to Earth by Allah Bapa (God the Father), and within the Trinity, there was also Roh Al Kudus (the Holy Spirit).

I don't know whether the Allah that Christians worship is the same God as the Muslim Allah. They may be the same, they may not. This is not a topic to fight about. All I know is that the Allah I worship is a God of love, of forgiveness, of gentleness, of peace, of salvation, and of all that is good and moral, and that he sent his Son (Anak) to Earth for me, a sinner. And by faith, I believe in him.

Nobody is going to tell me that I can't use the word Allah because that word is reserved for Muslims. And where did Mr Cancer5330 get the idea that Muslims are not intelligent enough, and that they are easily confused?

And Kamarul Jaman , in my Borneo and Malay languages (or Bahasa Indonesia, if you prefer), my Allah Bapa is gender-neutral. In my Bible, Yesus Kristus is just Anak, not Anak Lelaki

God bless Malaysia, and God bless all Malaysians. Really.
