My prayer for this country is that we, the voters, can decide what type of a prime minister is it that we are looking for. The candidate must be caring enough and have enough guts to stand up against the wave of corruption, he or she must deliver on promises and walk the talk and also must be strong in administration and in operational knowledge to manage the country's resources.

My only concern now is that looking at things that are happening one after another in our beloved country Malaysia, I am not assured at all that our PM is on the right path. The 'elegant silence' is still there to wreak havoc on the minds of Malaysians.

I believe all Malaysians love our prime minister - whoever it is that has been being elected - but we want our prime minister to be vocal in areas that could harm Malaysia and Malaysians like abuse of power, corruption, police inaction, ACA impotence, cover ups, major floods, issues that greatly affect the livelihoods of Malaysians, businesses that never benefit Malaysia, etc.

We also need the prime minister to constantly keep Malaysians informed of what immediate plans are there to arrest social and economical problems. In other words, to give direction and assure the people and not miss the entire picture altogether.

Uncalled for comments and attitudes by our parliamentarians must also be put to a stop immediately. If not, the prime minister would be seen as a leader of leaders that condones such irresponsible behaviour and Malaysians would not be respecting his leadership.

Malaysia and Malaysians depend on you, Mr Prime Minister, to root out the very source of evil manipulations by bad leaders that only care for themselves and not the people of the land that they are supposed to serve.

To be a great leader, you must first be a servant. Put service as your Number One priority and not politics. Malaysia and Malaysians need a strong, level-headed, caring and impartial prime minister to make Malaysia and Malaysians known throughout the world as a nation to be desired, copied and imitated upon whether in terms of spirituality, economics, utilisation of resources, racial integration and harmony, law, peace and order, freedom of speech, efficient public delivery system, clean roads, efficient infrastructure, preventive maintenance, growth in per capita income, well-controlled inflation and a low consumer price index.

I know the prime minister will take time to digest all of this and I believe if he seriously takes the time to think of all these points in an objective manner, he could implement them phase by phase with the help of different groups of experts that would advise him accordingly. Many good policies and decisions are basically common sense though some of the more technical ones require wisdom to deal with.

With that, I hope Malaysia and Malaysians can and will see a more proactive prime minister in the days to come and not because an election is around the corner.
