I refer to the letter Where was compassion in Revathi's case?

Wake up the silent majority! Silence is no more golden on your side. The world has changed very drastically over the last decade whether you like it or not. The protection of our fundamental rights lies in our participation in the democratisation process of our beloved country and is binding on us as citizens and 'Anak Malaysia'.

Together we are responsible for the quality or our system and it is pivotal to play our indispensable roles as citizen of this country especially when the indisputable supremacy of our constitution is under threat by a few minority religious fanatics.

I sincerely believe and share the view that the Revathi case was the work of pockets of self- righteous officers. This is partly due to the fact that the majority of us still practice the concept of 'Silence is golden' or are too afraid to speak out. They chose to continue enduring the ordeal of the past 37 years.

The kind of extremism (Taliban-style rulings) being displayed by some is a virus and it can be contagious if not checked and stopped in time. We can see that things are steadily getting more rampant and out of hand.

The silent majority who continue to practice their 'silence is golden' are sending the wrong message to the majority of the peace-loving Muslim community who believe that Islam is

compassionate and peace-loving. They are saying that Taliban-like rulings and practices are acceptable here.

The perception of the silent majority can be misread and misinterpreted and believe me if that happen, the trend of Islamisation the country is seeing shall be irreversible. And it would a free roller coaster ride for Malaysia.
