I'm refer to the news report in Malaysiakini , Surat teguran rasmi kepada Al Jazeera .

I found it rather ridiculous that the Information Ministry will be sending an official warning letter accusing Al Jazeera of being one-sided when reporting the Bersih rally on Nov 10 when all major news media in Malaysia has been one-sided when reporting about incidents or news in Malaysia such as elections, racial issues, high-profile corruption, economic issues, the list can go on and on.

Information Minister Zainuddin Maidin should be grateful that Al Jazeera has interviewed him for his opinion. At least Al Jazeera is reporting views from both the ruling party and opposition. What do we end up with in Malaysia? How often do we see the local TV stations, radio stations and major newspapers report comments or interviews with opposition leaders? I don't get to see Anwar Ibrahim or Lim Kit Siang appear on TV more than groups of impotent monkeys.

These few days really show how misleading our major news media have been. Instead of reporting a gathering of 40,000 people at the Bersih rally, they only reported 4,000 as claimed by the inspector-general of police (IGP). Anyone who is not blind can tell the difference of 4,000 and 40,000 when looking at the sea of people clad in yellow shirts on that day.

Instead of reporting what they saw, they decided to just report what was fed to them. All the traffic jams on major arteries leading into the city was caused by all the police blocks that turned most roads into a single- or two-lane road. The rally might have caused some traffic congestion in the city but not to that extend of damage the police blocks have caused. Why blame it on the rally?

I applaud Malaysiakini in reporting the Bersih rally 'live' . Malaysiakini has been my main source in obtaining news from back home. The photos from the Bersih rally shows another difference between Malaysiakini and the local news media who do not even have a single picture of the event, not even a single photo thumbnail.

Zainuddin should really look back and see what our local major news media have been reporting before accusing other networks as being one-sided in reporting events happening in Malaysia. It will be like throwing shit back into our own faces if they know what our local news media have been reporting on the Bersih rally.

I pity the local journalists and news reporters working in these news media. Not only are they controlled by the ruling party in what to and what not to report, they even ended up telling lies to Malaysians. That is the kind of pathetic journalism they are practising. I don't even know if I should call it journalism anymore.
