I am replying to Abakjr's letter - 'ISA hunger strike a citizens' initiative' (May 15) - which stated that only non-governmental organisations *participated in this hunger strike.

Doesn't the whole of Malaysia know that these NGOs are under the influence of the opposition parties? This kind of gimmick and untruthful campaign is what we don't want in Malaysia. If the NGOs wanted to protest against ISA they should have done it long before, not after the launching of the anti-ISA movement by the opposition.

With regard to the writer's stand that those who are under the ISA detention are not traitors, I urge those who agree with him to wake up from their daydreaming and realise the reality that these people who are today becoming a threat to the nation are traitors. I can't find a better word for them than that. Those who threaten the security of my beloved country will be branded as traitors and I don't need a judge or a court to tell me that.
